Softball Recap: Providence Academy Wins Going Away Against Life Way Christian

Providence Academy got themselves on the board against Life Way Christian on Tuesday, but Life Way Christian never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 9-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Roy was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Roy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Camden Griggs was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Torrey Sanford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Providence Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Providence Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Life Way Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will challenge West Fork at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Life Way Christian, they will take on Mountainburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
