The O'Connor Eagles will square off against the Boulder Creek Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
O'Connor took a 44-point defeat the last time they faced off against Saguaro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sabercats 40-37. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Jeremy Adeyanju had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 166 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. O'Connor is 2-1 when Adeyanju posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brodie Moore, who rushed for 68 yards on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder Creek). They breezed past Mountain Ridge to the tune of 55-13 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
O'Connor better keep an eye on Everett Stano. He was instrumental in Boulder Creek's win, throwing for 211 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Joey Longo was Stano's top target, picking up 92 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Boulder Creek didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Mountain Ridge to a completion percentage of just 43.5%. The team can thank Vincent Lorgeree for the heroic effort on defense: he. Boulder Creek has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.65 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.65 in their last three games.
Boulder Creek's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Torin Hamilton, Jaxen Proffitt, and Preston Dejong, who each picked up one sack apiece. Hamilton was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Boulder Creek, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5.
O'Connor suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Boulder Creek in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Stano, who threw for 268 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. Now that the Eagles know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
