Volleyball Recap: Holcomb Comes Up Short

If Holcomb was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cooter on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets fell 3-1 to the Kennett Indians on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

While Holcomb had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Holcomb's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Kennett, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Holcomb will be playing at home against New Madrid County Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennett has already played their next contest (against Senath-Hornersville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
