Preview: Boyd Anderson Cobras vs. McArthur Mustangs
The Boyd Anderson Cobras will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the McArthur Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Boyd Anderson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Monday.
Last Monday, everything came up roses for Boyd Anderson on the road against Hallandale as the team secured a 42-12 victory. The win was just what Boyd Anderson needed coming off of a 56-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Jakaylia Roland was a one-man wrecking crew for Boyd Anderson as she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 10 steals. The matchup was Roland's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zynai Thomas, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, McArthur was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Chaminade-Madonna 57-11 on the road. With McArthur ahead 42-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McArthur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jada Jones, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Jahnya Lewis, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Boyd Anderson's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for McArthur, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Boyd Anderson have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 31.7% of their threes per game. However, it's not like McArthur struggles in that department as they've nailed 48% of theirs this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
