Fike is 6-1 against Smithfield-Selma since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Fike Demons will square off against the Smithfield-Selma Spartans at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses dating back to last season for Fike and 20 for Smithfield-Selma dating back to last season.

Fike lost 24-3 to South Johnston on Friday.

Fike saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Sharp, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Sharp has posted since back in April of 2024. Addison Barnes was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Smithfield-Selma came up short against Southeast Raleigh on Monday, falling 26-20.

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fike, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Fike's way against Smithfield-Selma in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Fike made off with a 20-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fike since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
