school year.
Each week during the
season (regular and post), there will be a fan-generated
contest to tab weekly winners. Each winner
receives an award patch for their varsity jacket and a digital
badge (below) on their MaxPreps player page.
How does it work? Nominees
are selected from statistics submitted on MaxPreps. Coaches who do not have
current access may request their free account
here. Weekly finalists are released on
MaxPreps every Tuesday and voting is conducted in a special
poll. Voting ceases at noon on Mondays. The winners (2 per
week) are announced the next day along with the next week's nominees.
Participants may vote as many times as they
want. It's a competition.
The last three weeks over 475,000 votes have been

* KK Bransford, Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati) Girls
BasketballFreshman exploded onto the
scene with 29 points and seven rebounds in a 60-55 loss to
nationally-ranked Africentric and 15 points and eight rebounds in a
56-38 win over Toledo Notre Dame at the OGBR Journey to the Tourney
event.
* Jon Tomcufcik, Kenston (Chagrin Falls) FootballJunior quarterback carried the
ball 11 times for 108 yards and three touchdowns as the Bombers beat
Eastmoor 40-7 in a D-III state semifinal.

* Logan Domer, Orrville Football
Senior quarterback tied a D-V state championship game record with four rushing touchdowns in a 49-34 win over Johnstown-Monroe. Domer ran for three touchdowns in the second quarter (36, 60 and 61 yards) and added a 13-yard touchdown in the fourth. He finished with 207 yards on 10 carries.

Senior broke his own school record for points in a game (53) with 55 in an 80-64 win over Liberty.

* Destiny Leo, North (Eastlake) Girls Basketball
Junior had 37, 34 and 28 points in wins over Beaumont (80-75), Independence (66-55) and Andrews Osborne Academy (62-44). Had 21 rebounds, nine steals and six assists combined as well.
* Tanner Schroeder, McComb (McComb) Football
Back for another week as a nominee, versatile senior led Panthers to their first state title in 35 years with a 28-3 win over Trimble in the D-VII state final. Quarterback/Kicker carried the ball 19 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns, completed two passes for 10 yards, had one reception for 12 yards and made four PAT kicks. Defensively he registered three tackles and two pass break-ups. On special teams he averaged 41.3 yards on five punts and 40.4 on five kickoffs. Schroeder's 302 points this season (30 touchdowns, 10 field goals and 77 PATs) is the eighth-most in OHSAA history.

* Evan Prater, Wyoming (Cincinnati) Football
Another repeat nominee, junior quarterback led the Cowboys to the D-IV state title with a 42-14 win over Girard. In dismal weather, Praeter completed six-of-11 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 242 yards and three touchdowns. The Ohio D-IV Offensive Player of the Year finishes with 2,174 yards and 28 touchdowns passing and 1,778 yards and 32 touchdowns rushing.
* Camille Cummins, Cardinal (Middlefield) Girls BasketballSenior had 19 points, 20 rebounds, nine steals and four assists in a 54-53 loss to Grand Valley and 13 points, 25 rebounds, six assists and five steals in a 52-51 loss to Lakeside.

* Garrett Dzuro, St. Edward (Lakewood) FootballSenior quarterback spearheaded a 17-0 second half onslaught that led the Eagles to a 24-10 win over undefeated and nationally-ranked Colerain in the D-I state final. Dzuro finished the game 12-of-12 for 150 yards and hooked up with Michigan-bound receiver Qunitel Kent for touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter. He also ran for 74 yards on 18 carries.
* Peyton Bissler, West Geauga (Chesterland) Boys BasketballJunior guard scored 40 points (26 in first half) in a 75-68 win over Chardon and 33 points in a 71-70 loss to Aurora.
