Hampshire gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Preston Knights with a sharp 40-20 victory. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.

Despite the loss, Preston still got an impressive performance from Slaton Manko, who rushed for 135 yards, and also threw for 72 yards and a pair of TDs.

Hampshire and Preston will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Trojans will take on rival Frankfort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Preston is set to square off against their familiar foe North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
