Nolan Catholic and Bishop Lynch are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Vikings will challenge the Friars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nolan Catholic's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three games, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, Nolan Catholic took a blow against Parish Episcopal, falling 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 840th, while the Panthers are ranked 85th).

Meanwhile, Bishop Lynch's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Legacy Christian Academy by a score of 21-14. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Friars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Nolan Catholic better keep an eye on Matias Leon. He was instrumental in Bishop Lynch's win, throwing for 269 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 46 yards. Akani Berrios- Cruz helped out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards.

Bishop Lynch didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Legacy Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 50%. The Friars weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 59.5%.

Nolan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bishop Lynch, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Nolan Catholic might still be hurting after the 42-17 defeat they got from Bishop Lynch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Leon, who threw for 204 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in two scores on the ground. Now that the Vikings know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
