Volleyball Recap: Homer Falls Short Against Ranked Mountain City Christian Academy

Homer faced Mountain City Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mariners fell just short of the Lions by a score of 1-0. The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Homer's offense was headlined by Swift Blackstock and Madalyn Miotke, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Alysha Nyvall and her eight assists. Miotke was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Homer fell to 3-1. As for Mountain City Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
