Softball Preview: South Greene Rebels vs. University Buccaneers
The South Greene Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the University Buccaneers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in South Greene's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while University has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
South Greene put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Hampton 21-5. The win was just what South Greene needed coming off of a 15-0 defeat in their prior contest.
South Greene got a massive performance out of Katie Willett, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run, four runs, and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kortnei Bailey, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.
Meanwhile, University suffered a rough 15-1 loss at the hands of North Greene on Monday.
South Greene's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
