Softball Recap: New Trier Finds Home Field Redemption Against Schaumburg

There's no place like home for New Trier, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Schaumburg Saxons 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trevians have posted since April 22nd.

New Trier's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Schaumburg, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-17.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. New Trier will host Loyola Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ramblers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Trevians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Schaumburg, they will venture away from home to take on Glenbard North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saxons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
