After a string of five wins, Leesburg's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Eustis Panthers. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Campbell, who posted 11 points. Jalen Brown was another key player, putting up ten points.

Eustis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cornelius Hines led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Hines is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lomar Sparrow, who had eight points and ten rebounds.

Leesburg's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Eustis, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Leesburg has already played their next match, a 60-56 win against South Lake on the 28th. As for Eustis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-57 defeat against Seminole on the 29th.
