League recap: League standings in flux as Community Christian jumps, Genoa-Hugo drops

1A District 2 league recap: 3/20/13

Community Christian made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from eighth to first place in 1A District 2 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Genoa-Hugo fell hardest in the standings, dropping from third all the way to fifth place after going 0-0 in the past week.

The Crusaders outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Community Christian beat Longmont Christian 6-1 and Rocky Mountain Lutheran 8-1.

Elbert's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing zero hits and zero walks to lead the league in both categories.

Brett Meredith led the Bulldogs to a win on March 18, as he notched 11 strikeouts to beat Pikes Peak Christian, 14-0. Over five innings of work, he gave up zero hits and zero runs.



Roger Carlson drove in four runners as Elbert defeated the Eagles 14-0 on Monday. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
