Football Recap: Sparkman Senators vs. Daphne Trojans
Sparkman and Daphne squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sparkman had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 43-14 loss at the hands of the Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Senators have suffered since September 5th.
Despite the loss, Sparkman still got an impressive performance from Braylon Lawson, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of TDs.
A big part of Daphne's win came down to the chemistry between Christian Segar and his top target LaBrayln Williams. Segar threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes while Williams gained 152 total yards and five touchdowns. What's more, Williams posted three receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. A healthy portion of Segar's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Jaecyn Myles, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Sparkman now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Daphne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Sparkman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Daphne, they will face off against Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,085 yards in their previous games.
