Softball Recap: Rosary Academy's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rosary Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over the South Spartans. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by exactly 11 runs.

Daleah Cardenas looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

At the plate, Rosary Academy let K'Lene Gutierrez and Audrinah 'Boo Boo' Barajas run wild. Gutierrez went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Barajas scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Caldera, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Rosary Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South only posted an OBP of .217.

Rosary Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for South, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Rosary Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Esperanza on the 25th. As for South, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-4 loss against Peninsula on the 25th.
