LaVergne had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the McGavock Raiders. While the Wolverines didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Muhammad Israr, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

LaVergne's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for McGavock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
