Baseball Recap: Nederland Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nederland can now relate to. They fell just short of the Georgetown Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Nederland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alfred Williams, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Nederland's defeat dropped their record down to 26-8. As for Georgetown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-14-1 record this season.

While Nederland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
