Basketball Recap: Aiden Ravelo Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Horeb Christian came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 52-35 win over the First Baptist Academy Lions on Friday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 55-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Horeb Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Ravelo led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Gonzalez, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points.

The victory got Horeb Christian back to even at 6-6. As for First Baptist Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horeb Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pinecrest Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. First Baptist Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Donna Klein Jewish Academy on January 16, 2025.
