Recap: New Canaan Rams vs. McMahon Senators

The New Canaan Rams waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They beat McMahon by the very same score they won with last week: 42-6. Considering New Canaan has won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

New Canaan can attribute much of their success to Cooper Smith, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Smith was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Dylan Prior was another key contributor, rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

New Canaan pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for McMahon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

New Canaan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Darien at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Darien: 13, New Canaan: 8.7) so any points scored will be well earned. McMahon will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Norwalk at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
