Soccer Game Preview: Wharton vs. Calhoun

The Wharton Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Calhoun Sandcrabs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wharton fell victim to El Campo and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Ricebirds. The Tigers have struggled against the Ricebirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Calhoun's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Bay City, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, the Sandcrabs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Blackcats are ranked 251st).

Calhoun now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Wharton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
