Soccer Game Preview: Laguna Beach vs. St. Margaret's

The Laguna Beach Breakers will challenge the St. Margaret's Tartans at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Laguna Beach is headed into the game having not lost since December 10 and will look to keep things rolling. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Woodbridge two weeks ago. Given the Breakers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Warriors are ranked 763rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Luke Singer and Julian Reichel scored both of Laguna Beach's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's kept a clean sheet against Sage Hill on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lightning. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Tartans were the better team in the second half.

The win got St. Margaret's back to even at 2-2-4. As for Laguna Beach, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Everything went Laguna Beach's way against St. Margaret's in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as Laguna Beach made off with a 4-1 victory. Does Laguna Beach have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Margaret's turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
