Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Laurens

The Southside Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Laurens Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southside's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Southside who was credited with the victory on Monday. Southside got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Westside's zero. YAHIR RIVERA had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Tigers.

Laurens is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Clinton with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The win got Laurens back to even at 2-2. As for Southside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Southside was able to grind out a solid win over Laurens when the teams last played back in March of 2018, winning 2-0. Will Southside repeat their success, or does Laurens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
