Basketball Recap: Augusta Prep Day Comes Up Short

Augusta Prep Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers and fell 54-26. That's two games in a row now that the Cavaliers have lost by exactly 28 points.

Briarwood Academy found their leader in sophomore Kelleyanne Mooney, who posted 17 points. With that strong performance, Mooney is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Carolina Crawley, who put up eight points and six boards.

Augusta Prep Day's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Briarwood Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Augusta Prep Day has already played their next match, a 38-16 win against Monsignor Donovan Catholic on the 24th. As for Briarwood Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-28 victory against Westminster Christian Academy on the 24th.
