Softball Game Preview: Ulysses Tigers vs. Colby Eagles

Ulysses hasn't had much luck against Colby recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Colby took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ulysses, who comes in off a win.

Ulysses will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Holcomb, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Longhorns on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Colby's offense. They came up short against Haven on Saturday, falling 7-0.

Ulysses' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Colby, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Ulysses couldn't quite get it done against Colby in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 7-4. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
