Baseball Recap: Lyman Wins Going Away Against Lake Mary

Lyman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lake Mary, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Greyhounds were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Rams on Tuesday. The Greyhounds not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st.

Kyle Bekemeyer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Anthony Hamilton was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyson Beamon, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Lyman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Lyman and bumps their season record up to 6-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Lake Mary, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-12.

Lyman will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
