            Volleyball Recap: Doherty Spartans vs. Coronado Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They came up short against  the Coronado Cougars, falling  3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season,  with their most recent  loss being a  2-0  defeat  back in March.
 Doherty was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the  first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21,  25-15.
Their offense was headlined by  Ryan Kaiser and  JaDeveon Ikener, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from  Elijah Morrison and his ten assists. Finally,  Hayden Peterson kept Doherty's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
Doherty's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Coronado, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the  win, which was their eighth straight  at home.
 Doherty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  3-1  defeat against Sand Creek on the 22nd. As for Coronado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-0  loss against Rampart on the 22nd.
