Basketball Recap: Boiling Springs Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brandon Ascione and Ethan Yenser

Boiling Springs lost against Bishop McDevitt back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Boiling Springs Bubblers took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders.

Boiling Springs' loss came despite strong showings from Ethan Yenser and Brandon Ascione. Yenser posted 21 points, while Ascione had 21 points. Yenser's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Rife, who earned nine points.

Boiling Springs has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. Bishop McDevitt is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.
