Football Game Preview: Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes vs. Learning Foundation & Performing Arts Wolves

The Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes will head out on the road to face off against the Learning Foundation & Performing Arts Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Heritage Academy Gateway fought the good fight in their overtime game against Skyline Prep on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 28-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals. The Heroes were up 22-8 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Heritage Academy Gateway might have lost, but man, Stratton Ellsworth was a machine: he rushed for 121 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. The Heroes are 2-1 when Ellsworth posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Learning Foundation & Performing Arts scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Imagine Prep Coolidge by a score of 34-31. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage Academy Gateway's record is now 3-3. As for Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, their record now sits at 2-4.

Heritage Academy Gateway couldn't quite get it done against Learning Foundation & Performing Arts when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 48-38. Can the Heroes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
