Recap: St. Michael the Archangel Warriors vs. Highland Hawks

The St. Michael the Archangel Warriors entered their tilt with the Highland Hawks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. St. Michael the Archangel came out on top against Highland by a score of 51-38 on Monday. This was payback for St. Michael the Archangel, who suffered a 43-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Michael the Archangel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah Teel, who scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Teel has scored all season. Janaye Martinez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds.

St. Michael the Archangel's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Highland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.

St. Michael the Archangel won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trinity at Meadow View at 4:30 p.m. on February 6th. Highland's road trip will continue as they head out to face Quantico at 4:00 p.m. on February 8th. Highland's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Quantico's offense will have their work cut out for them.
