The Springfield Southeast Spartans lost against the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Springfield Southeast took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sacred Heart-Griffin. When it comes to explaining why Springfield Southeast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marisa Gant. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with three steals. Gant hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Zaria Weston, who scored nine points.
Springfield Southeast has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.
Springfield Southeast's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lanphier at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Lanphier is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Sacred Heart-Griffin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Springfield at 6:30 p.m. on January 20th. Springfield will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
