Coal Ridge entered their tilt with Steamboat Springs on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Steamboat Springs Sailors by a score of 53-46. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-45 back in January.

Coal Ridge was led to victory by Ben Simons and Alex Cornejo. Simons went 8 for 9 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds, while Cornejo went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Simons a new career-high in points. Gio Ervin was another key player, putting up five points.

Coal Ridge's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Steamboat Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coal Ridge will face off against Roaring Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
