Basketball Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Choctaw County Tigers 49-22. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-40 back in November.

Jarrod Chaney was his usual excellent self, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists for Choctaw County. Chaney is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last four games he's played. Daylen Blakley was another key player, posting nine points.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Choctaw County, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Johnson will take on Sweet Water in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on December 16th at. As for Choctaw County, they will venture away from home to challenge Linden at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Choctaw County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
