Game recap

After five lead changes, Brunswick (Ohio) took the lead for good when it ran for a touchdown with 3:00 left in the third quarter and held on to defeat Hudson (Ohio) 26-22 on Saturday.

The Blue Devils led 19-15 at halftime, but the Explorers recaptured the lead on a Mitchell Guadagni touchdown pass to Ben Gedeon with 7:00 left in the third.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at four entering the fourth.

Dan Yohman stood out for Brunswick in the win. The senior quarterback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

Hudson's Guadagni was the standout player for his team. The sophomore quarterback threw two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to three on the year.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 31-28 win for BHS.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Blue Devils, which lost to Austintown-Fitch last week, 35-7. The defeat comes as a step back for Hudson, which notched a 38-21 victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights in its previous outing. The loss snapped HHS's 3-game winning streak.

In a Northeast Ohio - River game next week Hudson (3-1) takes on Cuyahoga Falls, and Brunswick (3-1) will go up against Garfield Heights in a non-conference game.
