Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King). They managed a 70-65 win over the Jefferson Dragons on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak.
Nuri Hakim was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards. Those 33 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rodney Smith, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
King's win bumped their record up to 4-20. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.
King won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Middleton at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jefferson has already played their next game (against Robinson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
