Cornerstone Christian had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Abilene Christian by a score of 65-52 on Saturday. The win was just what Cornerstone Christian needed coming off of a 58-35 loss in their prior contest.
When it comes to explaining why Abilene Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryinn Waggoner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. Waggoner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brooks Armstrong, who scored 10 points.
Cornerstone Christian's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Abilene Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will take on Water Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Water Valley and Cornerstone Christian are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Abilene Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cross Plains at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
