Basketball Recap: New Life Christian Academy Falls to Varsity Opponent in First Game of Season

New Life Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 46-19 loss at the hands of Varsity Opponent. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

When it comes to explaining why New Life Christian Academy lost on Monday, don't look at Abraham Robinson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Robinson has been hot recently, having also posted three or more blocks the last four times he's played.

New Life Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elk Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-45 loss against Christian Center on the 1st.
