Football Recap: Hawthorne Starts Season with Victory Against Montclair Kimberley Academy

Hawthorne had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars to the tune of 42-14 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Although Montclair Kimberley Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Ben Safirstein and Samuel Akaho.

Coming up, Hawthorne will venture away from home to face off against Wallington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, they will host The Pingry School at 2:00 p.m. on the 6th. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
