Baseball Recap: Logan Longhorns vs. Floyd Broncos

Logan gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 26-1 margin over the Floyd Broncos. That's more bragging rights for Logan, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kaeden Stoner and Brock Burns made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Stoner struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Burns pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Stoner scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Burns scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Logan got a massive performance out of Diego Sanchez, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Wallin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and a triple.

On Floyd's side, they saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmy Lovato, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logan will square off against Gateway Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Floyd, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grady at 2:00 p.m. on April 8th.
