Basketball Recap: Eastport-South Manor Takes a Loss

Eastport-South Manor was the 56-26 winner over Wyandanch when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eastport-South Manor Sharks fell to the Wyandanch Warriors 45-40. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nyasia Murphy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wyandanch, going 8 for 16 on her way to 19 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Yonnie Ware, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Eastport-South Manor's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wyandanch, with the win, they broke their 12-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-12.

Eastport-South Manor will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Amityville Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Wyandanch, they will challenge Harborfields at 12:00 p.m. on January 25th.
