Preview: Bristol Central Rams vs. Manchester Red Hawks
Bristol Central is 0-3 against Manchester since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bristol Central Rams' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Manchester Red Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. Bristol Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Manchester is ranked 11th).
On Saturday, Bristol Central was beaten by Northwest Catholic 89-47. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bristol Central in their matchups with Northwest Catholic: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Manchester entered their tilt with Edwin O. Smith with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Manchester blew past Edwin O. Smith 101-57 at home on Thursday. Manchester has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.
Will Oden-Tann was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chance Clark, who scored 17 points.
Bristol Central has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Manchester, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Bristol Central took a serious blow against Manchester in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 68-34. Can Bristol Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
