Volleyball Recap: Richland Has No Trouble Against Lake Dallas

Richland had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Lake Dallas on Friday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Falcons. The Raiders not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 15th (when they won 3-0).

Richland never let Lake Dallas on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-23, 25-15.

Reese Mahar paced Richland's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mahar got some help from Reagan Oliver and her 16 assists. Ainsley Standiford controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

Richland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-11. As for Lake Dallas, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Richland is set to square off against their familiar foe Celina at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lake Dallas will take on rival Panther Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
