Football Game Preview: Cumberland Dukes vs. Charles City Panthers

The Cumberland Dukes will take on the Charles City Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Cumberland took a blow against Nelson County, falling 50-22. The Dukes haven't had much luck with the Governors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Charles City challenged Surry County last Thursday. The Panthers were beaten by the Cougars 38-0.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Charles City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Cumberland couldn't quite get it done against Charles City in their previous meeting back in August of 2017 as they fell 28-18. Can the Dukes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
