Football Game Preview: Lompoc Braves vs. Central Valley Christian Cavaliers + Official Tickets

The Lompoc Braves will square off against the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Lompoc and Paso Robles were almost perfectly matched up, but Lompoc suffered a 34-33 defeat. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Lompoc saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Trevor Thompson, who threw for 159 yards and four touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Kasch Kubasiewicz was in the mix too, providing the Braves with two scores.

Meanwhile, Central Valley Christian never let their opponents score on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Reedley 42-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cavaliers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Pirates are ranked 543rd).

Lompoc's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Central Valley Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
