Softball Preview: Chilton County Tigers vs. Jemison Panthers

Chilton County has gone 8-2 against Jemison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chilton County Tigers face off against Jemison Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Chilton County will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Chilton County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Wetumpka, who was ranked 12th at the time (Chilton County was ranked 25th). Chilton County had just enough and edged out Wetumpka 10-8. Chilton County's victory was all the more impressive since the Indians were averaging only 4.07 runs allowed on the season.

Kaylee Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Chilton County let Macey Pierce and Makenzie Harrison run wild. Pierce fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3, while Harrison went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Pierce a new career-high in home runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Avree Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Chilton County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wetumpka struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Jemison was able to grind out a solid win over Billingsley on Monday, taking the game 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Jemison got a massive performance out of Braelyn Bradford, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Bradford's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abi Rivera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Chilton County pushed their record up to 19-3-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Jemison, their win bumped their record up to 3-4-1.
