Football Recap: Coatesville Takes Down Ranked Smyrna

Coatesville is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Smyrna. The Red Raiders had just enough and edged out the Eagles 49-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Raiders.

Despite the loss, Smyrna still got an impressive performance from Kahmaj Kearney, who rushed for 94 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Drew Marks, who threw for 200 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.

Coatesville has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.

Coming up, Coatesville is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Abraham Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smyrna, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
