Basketball Recap: Eleanor Roosevelt Starts Season with Victory Against Bladensburg

Eleanor Roosevelt had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by the Bladensburg Mustangs to the tune of 60-6 on Thursday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Raiders had established a 48 point advantage.

Eleanor Roosevelt had a senior duo take command as Sakairah Sterling posted 12 points and Sydney Tatung went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and three steals. That's the most steals Tatung has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie D'Antignac, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points.

Bladensburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

Eleanor Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-36 loss against Southeast Raleigh on the 13th. As for Bladensburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 36-31 defeat against Fairmont Heights on the 13th.
