Football Recap: Neumann-Goretti Starts Season with Loss at Home

Neumann-Goretti unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They and Pope John Paul II were almost perfectly matched up on Saturday, but the Saints suffered a 21-20 defeat. The loss continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with Pope John Paul II: they've now lost three in a row.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neumann-Goretti will host Benjamin Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pope John Paul II, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shawnee on Thursday.
