Recap: Meadow Broncos vs. Whitharral Panthers
The Meadow Broncos suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Whitharral, falling 80-31. While losing is never fun, Meadow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1014th, while Whitharral is ranked 405th).
Whitharral got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Paige Smith out in front who scored 29 points along with three steals. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Madi Chavez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Meadow and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Whitharral, they pushed their record up to 23-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Meadow will challenge Amherst at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitharral, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
