Gaylord got themselves on the board against Alpena on Friday, but Alpena never followed suit. They blew past the Wildcats 41-0. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Mason Silsbury was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 234 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Jaron Bensinger was another key back, rushing for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gaylord was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Gaylord didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aden Scott and Calvin Cosby.

Gaylord's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Alpena, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gaylord is set to challenge their familiar foe Escanaba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Blue Devils 12.8, the Eskymos 12.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Alpena will face off against rival Sault Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
