Basketball Recap: North Posey Takes a Loss

North Posey lost against Gibson Southern back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The North Posey Vikings took a 68-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibson Southern Titans. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gibson Southern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paige Schnaus, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Schnaus' morning made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Spink, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

North Posey's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Gibson Southern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

North Posey and Gibson Southern should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. North Posey (ranked 90th) will meet Evansville Harrison (ranked 282nd) at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Similarly, Gibson Southern will challenge Boonville at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025 up 197 places (57 vs. 254).
